Why We Built This Site
Louisiana opens a good deal of warrant information to the public, yet the hard part is knowing which office holds the piece you need. No single file follows a warrant from start to finish. The court that issues the warrant sets the charge and the bond. The sheriff's warrant unit serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant for a missed date often stays with the municipal or justice of the peace court that set the case, not with the parish. Louisiana runs no single public statewide warrant search, so a person who checks one office, finds nothing, and stops there can walk away with the wrong answer. We collect the contacts, the request steps, and the local court details for each of those offices.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant searches: how to run a warrant search by name and date of birth through the sheriff's portal and the courts
- Active warrants: what the parish's published active warrant list does and does not show
- Bench warrants: how a missed court obligation becomes a bench warrant and which court then holds it
- Arrest warrants: how the district court issues an arrest warrant and how the sheriff serves it
- Traffic and city court matters: how municipal tickets, attachments, and fine deadlines work in Thibodaux, Lockport, and Golden Meadow
- Resolution: what to ask an attorney, the issuing court, and the sheriff, from bond to a motion to recall
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to any Louisiana court, sheriff's office, or state agency. The limits on what it can do are real.
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm that a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond or accept payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-in appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a charge, bond, or court date applies to you
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or warrant listing here is current today
Only the issuing court or the sheriff's office that holds the warrant can confirm whether it exists and whether it has been recalled or cleared. This site can point you to that office, but the answer has to come from them.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages here are run by outside companies. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services, and a paid signup may earn this site a referral fee that keeps it free to use. We do not control what those tools charge or what they return, and their results are not an official warrant check.
